Building connection and community
California CASA understands the importance of providing opportunities for convergence, connection, and collaboration to bind our network together. Local CASA programs in our state range from small teams to multi-office programs, located in diverse places, from large cities to rural communities with 700 miles of geography in between our Northern and Southern programs.
California CASA brings together staff from across the State for an annual conference each year and for regional convenings each quarter. Our 2026 conference took place September 1st-3rd in Costa Mesa, bringing together 350+ staff from across our network with programming shaped by our theme of Coming Together, Shaping Our Collective Impact.
The conference featured inspiring keynote speakers: Jarl Mohn, President Emeritus and former CEO, National Public Radio (NPR), Dr. Robert Sege, Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics at Tufts University and Co-Director of the HOPE National Resource Center, and Thomas Vozzo, former CEO and Current Advisor, Maria Flores, Director of Youth Services, and Gabriel Lopez, Senior Case Managerfor Youth Re-Entry at Homeboy Industries; engaging breakout sessions with tracks in juvenile justice and foster care programming, philanthropy and communications, leadership, and volunteer recruitment; and meaningful networking opportunities designed to foster collaboration across California's CASA network.
