HEATHER MASTERTON, Chief Philanthropy Officer, is a seasoned development and communications professional with more than 30 years of experience in the nonprofit sector. Her work has centered on ending domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse, while building support for impact litigation and policy advocacy to drive systemic change. She is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) and has successfully secured over $65M to support transformational programming and policy change in the areas of gender, economic, and racial justice.

Her past leadership roles include: Director of Philanthropy at Western Center on Law and Poverty, California’s largest legal resource center, Chief Strategic Engagement Officer at YWCA Glendale and Pasadena, a local YWCA chapter dedicated to eliminating racism and empowering women and girls, Vice President of Development at Mariska Hargitay’s Joyful Heart Foundation, a national nonprofit focused on ending domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse, Executive Director at South Valley Services (formerly South Valley Sanctuary), a 57-bed emergency domestic violence shelter in Utah, and Director of Development at Peace Over Violence, Los Angeles' first rape crisis and domestic violence support center. Heather holds a Master’s degree in Women’s Studies and a Bachelor’s degree in Women’s Studies with a Minor in Public Policy from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
