We’ve made getting involved in the CASA movement easy. Read through the many ways you can help a child in foster care thrive and succeed.
Volunteer as a CASA
Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) are community members, appointed by a juvenile court judge to speak out on behalf of a child. Most importantly, these volunteers provide stability and hope to abused and neglected children. Volunteering can make a real difference to your life and the lives of those in your community.
Stand up for a child today. Your advocacy gives foster children a voice. Helping a child can begin here – become a CASA Volunteer. For more information, visit our helpful FAQs page.
Attend Events in Your Community
We recognize that life can be very busy, and you don’t always have the time to make a big commitment. However, there are lots of local fundraising events put on throughout the year so local programs are always in need of enthusiastic new volunteers to help at community events.
Find your local program to learn about upcoming events. Once you’ve found an event you’re interested in attending, share the event with your friends and family on Facebook, Twitter, and other social media.
Become a Foster Parent or Adopt a Child
The goal for most children in foster care is to be reunited with their parent(s) so long as reunification remains the child’s permanency plan. However, at times this may not be in the child’s best interest, as determined by the court.
If you’d like to become more involved in a foster child’s life, please consider becoming a foster parent or adopting a child. Contact your local county Department of Social Services to learn more. Every child deserves the chance to grow up in a safe and loving family.
