THE INFLUENCE OF YOUTH AND YOUNG ADULTS WHO EXPERIENCED FOSTER CARE
WITHIN CALCASA
CalCASA values the wisdom and leadership that individuals who
experienced foster care directly and who had CASA volunteers
assigned to them as children or youth bring to our work. We
frequently employ young professionals who previously spent time in
foster care as consultants whose work is integral to our projects
and initiatives. We sometimes gather groups of youth and young
adults to share their perspectives on particular issues in order to
inform our work as well. We are also honored to have several members
of our Board of Directors and one member of our permanent staff who bring direct experiences in foster
care to their roles, along with many other skills and life
experiences.
